Barro Rojo Clay Face Planter
Barro Rojo Clay Face Planter
Imported directly from Oaxaca, Mexico, these handmade planter pots are a rare and unique edition to your indoor jungle or backyard oasis. Made just for us by our friends in Oaxaca, these planters make a great conversation piece or a one-of-a-kind gift for the plant lover in your life. Face detail on one side and agave on the other, and complete with a drainage hole. Each pot is formed by hand from natural, gathered clays, by a mother-daughter team outside of Oaxaca de Juarez, in the same tradition that dates back hundreds of years. One type of clay is used to form the vessel and another is used to give the beautiful red coloring. They are then fired over open flame, some pots uniquely marked by wisps of fire; and then burnished by hand, usually with a small stone, to give the finish.
**Please note that this item is not glazed or sealed, as they remain true to the traditional pre-hispanic method of producing barro rojo pottery.**
*Purchasing this item supports indigenous artisan communities in Oaxaca, helping them continue to thrive through their tradition and craft.
